Shen Yun Performing Arts at Kennedy Center Opera House

Shen Yun — the world’s premier dance organization — has announced this season's schedule of shows throughout dozens of North America’s most prestigious theaters, including the Kennedy Center Opera House on Friday 21st February 2025!

Before the period of Communism, FIVE THOUSAND years of legends, arts, and culture flourished in each corner of China's mainland, and year in and year out, the New York City-based Shen Yun breathes life into these enduring treasures for all to admire! 2025 is no exception.

Divine beings walking across the earth. Infinite fields of grass swept by hordes of Mongolian nomads. And battleground heroism of dauntless soldiers. Shen Yun’s annual performances center around the many legends and epics that spanned the nation's regimes, imaginatively portraying their calamities and fortunes with aspects from Buddhist and Taoist creeds to polish each story.

The forthcoming presentation will showcase 20 story segments of otherworldly performances in about two hours. Classically trained dancers decked in charmingly decorated costumes will glide to the floor, chronicling the event’s sagas with 17 or 18 intricate ethnic dance pieces. Additionally, 2 to 3 instrumental and vocal solos will punctuate these episodes with invigorating symphonies — both traditional and original.

A live orchestra will perform sweeping music throughout the show, innovatively combining Chinese and Western instruments. In terms of stagecraft, Shen Yun utilizes a state-of-the-art virtual backdrop to display animated scenes, drawing audiences into the world of ancient Chinese civilizations in a sensational fashion.

For the tour’s visit to District Of Columbia's city of Washington, the world-class Kennedy Center Opera House will serve as host. Its gorgeous stage, favored by dozens of the past decades’ biggest artists, will present the foundation for the unsurpassed show, elevating it further with splendid sight lines, immaculate lighting, and finely tuned acoustics.
